Tipping Point

The basic composition developed out of on going work in the studio and conversations between myself and my colleague Ethan Stote. When manipulating the raw material of oak trees into sculpture the trees go through many different processes, one of which is being hung from the lifting equipment we use. The raw branch moving slowly in balance has quite a simple beauty.

We were able to develop this simple concept further while responding to a brief to create an artwork in response to the Welsh landscape.
